Demographically-Enhanced Movie Recommendation System for Personalized Book Suggestions

The Demographically-Enhanced Movie Recommendation System focuses on providing personalized recommendations for movies and books by leveraging Big Data tools and machine learning algorithms. Key features were identified through data analysis and cleaning using AWS Glue, PySpark, DataBrew, and Redshift. Machine learning algorithms, specifically K-Nearest Neighbors, were applied using SageMaker and Lambda functions to predict books and movies. The system uses visualizations to understand the data, and the user interface allows for input of demographic details, built using Amplify, Cognito, and Amazon API Gateway. This setup recommends movies based on user demographics and suggests books based on the genres of the recommended movies, offering a comprehensive and personalized entertainment experience.
